Hey Patti,

How is everything? Neiko is doing great--and getting big. He is very well behaved and has also learned to stay. He has become very attached to Christy and I, following us everywhere we go. He is wonderful! I am looking into building a dog house and was wondering if you new Sirk's height and length so I could get an idea of how big the house needs to be. Here are some pictures of Neiko that I took this weekend at 5 months old. He probably weighs around 50 pounds. Hope all is well. Talk to you later.

Patti, everything went swimmingly at this end, and Lucas was fairly unperturbed with all that traveling! He's getting acquainted with his new surroundings and other pets. We had to laugh at him as we let him roam freely around our Bedroom where we have three long mirrors, and he ran up to each one, wagging his tail, and licking that cute little pup greeting him!!!
He was very thirsty, when we picked him up, and after slaking his thirst, he ate greedily. We have a small enclosure for him in our bathroom, and have taken him for short walks in the garden, and he's done all his business outside! Good-oh. He's sweet-tempered, and we're sure he'll be a wonderful pet for us! Barbara gave him his heartworm pill as you suggested. He follows Barbara wherever she walks, so he's really attached to her. Thank you for all your help in getting him here. We'll be taking him to our Vet on Monday to start his chart, and send you a copy.

Did everything go well with the new litter you were expecting?

Best regards-- Bud.

Patti & Walter,
Lexa is doing great!  She went to the vet on last Monday and everything was fine.  Everyone loved her at the vet.  People are amazed that she is a pure German shepherd because she is all black.
She gets along with everyone and all the dogs she met so far in the neighborhood.  She is quite a handful!!  Hope you like the picture!
                                          Talk to you soon,

Well, we made it back all in one piece.  We drove straight through, David got off in Frankfort and I headed on to Indianapolis for an all-day meeting.  I survived that part of Friday on Frappucinno !!!
Thanks for the North Carolina brand of Southern Hospitality that you showed to David and me.  We really enjoyed our visit and working our dogs with you.  Keep us posted on your trials...it would be great if we could put a group together to come down and trial with your club sometime.
We are very happy with Dixie.  She made the trip just fine, but sorta moped around all day Friday.  I spent about 2 hours of "quality time" with her on Saturday, and she really warmed up to me.  David and I are very optimistic about her and think that the trip to your place was well worth the time and effort.

Thanks again for everything.

First I would like to thank you for Krause. He is the best dog I have ever had. He has extremely high drives and is always willing to play with me. Me and Ryan (the trainer) both think this dog has great potential to be an outstanding German shepherd. Just at fourteen weeks he is hitting the tug, and everyday that I play with him it seems that his drive just keeps getting higher and higher.
Everyday he shows me something new that he can do. The thing I like best about Baysden is that Walter and Patricia are always willing to take the time to answer any of my questions, and they treat me with respect. Plus they have the knowledge to back it up. Bottom line this dog is just outstanding, and I could not be any happier.

Thank you Patricia and Walter for Krause

I will see you guys after Christmas

Hi guys!

Once again, I would like to thank you for breeding such a great puppy!  Rock is like no other puppy I have ever had.  He has the most well-mannered temperament that I have ever seen.  I just came home from work and he has yet to leave my side.  He is such a great companion. I took him for his second doctor's appointment the other day and even the doctor could not believe how much he has grown in just one month.  He commented on how pretty he is and just couldn't get over what a beautiful coat he has.  I told him that Carla and Sirk would be very proud if they could see their son now! Oh well,  I just wanted to say thanks again.  We are loving the heck out of this little pup.

Ps...As soon as I get settled in to our new house, we will be in contact with you about obedience classes.  Talk to you soon.

Hi,

I just wanted to let you guys know that Holley is doing great and that we are very pleased with her.
She is everything we wanted in a dog, she is well behaved (for the most part, she is still a puppy). We are amazed that she learns so quickly, it took us only 3 weeks to potty train here.
We found a Schutzhund training here in Orlando, and we think we are going to try that.  Lars has done most of the training with Holley at home, the basics like Sit, Down, Come and Heel. She is getting close to 6 months and we are debating about neutering her, but we would like some input, and we really trust your judgment since everything you told us at the time we picked Holly up has been true.
What is the benefit and the negative part of spaying?
Would you have any interest in breeding her?
We would greatly appreciate your input and thanks again.

Lars and Ann Sahlen

PS every time we take Holley for a walk people stop and admire her.

Anthony Horseman:

Dear Walter;
Well just an update on Colt.
By the way I like going back to your web site because you are constantly updating it with new pics and info.
As you know he is in training with Lt. Bob Anderson who is  head of the , Palm Beach Florida K-9 unit and trainer. Colt is a hard ,serious dog when he is working , and my best friend, who spends all his time by my side.
Colt thinks he is head dog at the class as well as the farm . Colt has just started tracking work last week , at 5 months old Colt is 48 lb..

Colt is "THE REAL DEAL" " quote from Lt. Bob Anderson) if anyone is looking for a Schutzhund candidate to go all the way .The " Greif Zum Lahntal " pedigree was one of the key reasons I wanted Colt. Colt will have no problem with the protection work and does not back down from anything, when he talks to you he gets your attention.
Colt has been introduced to all of the farm animals and gets along well with all,  cats ,dogs, cattle, horses, and goats. even the rooster...

Thanks Again;

Tony Horseman
PS .I am looking forward to getting another pup from you this winter.....besides I think I got the pick of the litter with Colt.......... ( SMILE)

Above: Lee and Christine Smith from East Windsor NJ with their new pup "Frisa" out of our Venja and Basko litter.

We can't tell you enough how happy we are with the puppy that we purchased from your kennel. Frisa is such a wonderful dog and has already shown so much potential. She is very intelligent and focused, relaxed and well behaved in the house, but ready to play at a moment's notice. We know that she will be a great working dog.

We were also pleased that we were able to meet both of you and see the other dogs at your kennel. You have a great love for the dogs and a dedication to their well being that was wonderful to see. We would not hesitate to recommend your kennel to others.

John Mitchell:

I had been an owner of GSD's since 1970, of the pet variety.   I lost one of my favorite dogs in the spring of 1999 and had decided to wait awhile to get another.  Around mid-November 1999, I was searching the web for sources for dysplasia free GSD when I came across Walt's web page.  It sounded like a good source so I e-mailed him.
He emailed back saying a litter was being whelped at that moment and they were of very good German lines.  I sent him a deposit for one of the two males that day.  Later I found out that Walt had arranged to sell the other male to someone in Florida, but the dame rolled over and killed one of the two males and a female.  Since I had been the first one to send in my deposit, I got the surviving male.
Since both parents of the pup are Schutzhund III, I decided to give Schutzhund training a shot, especially since Walt had told me he did not think the pup would be satisfied sitting around all day being a pet.  BOY WAS HE RIGHT!
Armin Winkler evaluated the pup at six months and said he had the natural talent and  ability of a Schutzhund dog.  He is sixteen months as of this writing and happily learning the sport of Schutzhund.  He has been seen in the past four months by Floyd Wilson, Sue Birch, Wayne Simanovich, and Chet Roberts they all seem to think he has what it takes to go the distance.  The only thing holding him back is my inexperience.

To Patti and Walter,

I love both my females I purchased from Baysden Kennels.  They are great with my children and so far temperamentally  and physically sound to do SchH work.

I plan on doing SchH with both of them so far have great noses for tracking and tremendous  ball drives and  love rag work Carla and Deana were no problem to house train etc

You can view them on my web http://brewers.netfirms.com

 Thank you for my girls

Norm Czuchra & Candace Young "

"Our vet told us to pick a German Breed stock over American because of various problems that had been developing in the breed. Our research took us to the Baysdens. We visited their kennel and were impressed with the cleanliness and care Patti & Walter displayed in their operation. We also picked our puppy from a new litter for later pickup. We are totally satisfied with Cleo, she is a beautiful dog, full of spirit and very smart. We picked her as a companion, and at this early point (puppy), we are sure we will be satisfied for years to come. Norm Czuchra & Candace Young "

Patti,

I am in Atlanta until Monday. Griff is excellent. He is growing like a weed, he can already sit on command. He is very territorial over his food, and sleeping area, and has no problem standing up to Jenny, our 7 year old female if she invades his territory. We take him everywhere we go. He discovered our gold fish pond, and has been "lounging " in it on these hot days. We have a creek, and our neighbor has a pond. We took him fishing one day, and he loves the water. I will email you some pictures as soon as I get a chance to scan them in. His ears are standing up beautifully, and they overlap right now. We get compliments everywhere we take him.

Thanks again so much!

Jakob and the Griff playing in the horse trailer. Griff is doing well. He is really maturing and becoming protective over the children. He is retrieving well, heels, and loves aggressive play. He will tug on a rope all day. He also jumps pretty well and does obstacles too.

I have had a hard time keeping him from herding the horses and cows though.

Thought you might like to have a recent pic.

PATTI,
I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE YOU A UPDATE ON GUNNER. I TRIED TO SEND YOU AN EMAIL A WEEK AGO BUT I LOST IT BEFORE I COULD SEND IT. GUNNER IS DOING JUST FINE. HE WEIGHED 25 POUNDS AT THE VETS OFFICE AT 11 WEEKS OLD. THE VET WAS IMPRESSED WITH GUNNER AND SAID TWICE HE DID NOT ACT LIKE MOST GERMAN SHEPHERDS. HE SAID GUNNER ACCEPTED ME AS HIS PACK LEADER ALREADY AND WAS IMPRESSED WITH HOW GUNNER LET ME HANDLE HIM. GUNNER WAS JUST SHOWING OFF, HE SEEMED SO RELAXED AT THE VETS OFFICE. WHEN HE IS READY TO PLAY WATCH OUT , HE IS A BALL OF FIRE. HE LOVES HIS KONG AND ROPE TOY THE MOST. HE LOVES TO POUNCE ON A MOVING SHADOW AND HE LIKES TO JUMP OFF OF STEPS ,I HAVE TO WATCH HIM CLOSE BECAUSE SOMETIMES HE ACTS LIKE HE IS GOING TO JUMP OFF 4 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND. MY DALMATIAN LOVES GUNNER AND LETS GUNNER BITE HER  ALL OVER. SHE IS 7 YEARS OLD AND ACTS LIKE A YOUNG DOG AGAIN SINCE WE GOT GUNNER. HE IS HOUSE TRAINED NOW AND GOES ALL NIGHT WITH OUT GOING OUTSIDE. GUNNER WILL SIT ON COMMAND AND DOES NOT SEEM TO MIND WALKING ON THE LEASH. HE LOOKS FORWARD TO HIS DAILY GROOMING AS LONG AS HE HAS SOMETHING TO CHEW ON. WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND TO KEEP DOG ODOR AT A MINIMUM? I WILL SEND YOU A PICTURE OF GUNNER SOON, HE IS GOING TO BE A HANDSOME FELLOW I THINK. TALK TO YOU LATER.
